While watching SportsCenter over the weekend on ESPN, I noticed that National Football League Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick was under investigation for a supposed dog fighting ring at his home in Surry County, Va.

Let me first start off by saying that I own two dogs and the thought of people doing this makes me sick.

The whole point of dog fighting is for two dogs to attack each other until one is dead or is unable to defend its self.

SportsCenter had an interview with a man who had information on the supposed dog fights at Vick’s home.

Of course you may have guessed it, he denied all knowledge that there was a dog fighting ring at his house.

In the search of his home, authorities found 66 dogs and multiple other items that were associated with dog fighting.

Now how would you not know that something like this was going on in your own house.

This leads me to the question, why would you do something like this?

Animals, dogs in general, are just as much of a person as a human being is.

Why would you ever think that two dogs fighting would be entertaining?

To make things even worse, the people who are involved in this horrid activity actually bet and win money off the death of a dog.

Dogs are meant to be loved and taken care of, not treated like a piece of meat.

That’s just my opinion on the subject though.
