Educational achievements

Jennifer Dycus, 2003 Farmersville High School graduate, and daughter of Carol Smith and Darrell Dycus graduated on May 9 from University of Texas at Dallas.

She has obtained her Bachelor’s of Science in Finance and will graduate Magna cum Laude.


Allison J. Helmberger of Farmersville has accepted membership in The National Honor Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS). Allison will be honored during an Induction Convocation this fall on the campus of the University of Cincinnati. NSCS is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is the nation’s only interdisciplinary honors organization for first and second-year college students. "

Membership is by invitation only, based on grade point average and class standing.

Her parents are Debbie and Joe Helmberger of Farmersville.


Ashley J. Williams of Farmersville is receiving her Bachelor’s of Science in Early Childhood Education from Langston University in Langston, Okla.
Commencement exercises will be at 10 a.m. May 17.

She will begin working on her Master’s of Early Childhood Education, with Montessori Certification at Oklahoma City University after graduation. Upon completion of her Masters Degree, she plans to teach kindergarten in an underprivileged area, and then open a school to incorporate traditional education practices with Montessori practices.

Her parents are Benny and Beverly Mondy and Randy Jones of Farmersville and her grandparents are Dorothy Stevenson and Billy Mondy of Farmersville.


FHS student Gabrien Clark has been accepted to the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science housed on the University of North Texas Campus.

Acceptance at TAMS is competitive with only 200 students selected a year from every region of the Texas, and from public and private schools of every size.

Students in this two-year program complete a rigorous academic curriculum of college coursework at the University of North Texas with instruction is by regular university faculty.
