Funeral services for Hueland S. Griffin, 86, of Greenville were held July 2, 2010, at the Hurst’s Fielder-Baker Chapel in Farmersville followed by interment at the Cross Roads Cemetery in Desert.
The Rev. Clint Bracher officiated.
Mr. Griffin was born Aug. 20, 1923, in Westminster to Clarence H. Griffin and Mary Viola Mullins Griffin.
He was a dairy farmer and of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Griffin was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II. He was a guard at the Nuremberg Trials in Nuremberg, Germany.
He died June 30 in Greenville.
Mr. Griffin is survived by his daughter, Linda England and her husband, Jim of Lavon; sister, Jesse Rae Vandegriff of Marshall; brothers, C.H. Griffin of Farmersville and Bobby Griffin of Blue Ridge; special friend, Stella Richardson; grandchildren, Gary and LeAnn Jones and Scott and Yomita England and great-grandchildren, Carson and Dylan Jones, Brayden England and Nealy Templeton.
