A graveside service  for Brian Leeswood-Jones was held June 14, 2010, at Cottage Hill Cemetery in Celina.

 

Mr. Jones was born Feb. 2, 1988, to Mona Atkins in Garland.  

 

He grew up in Weston and Howe and graduated from Howe High School. He joined the United States Army immediately following graduation.  He completed basic training and Airborne training at Fort Benning, Ga. After serving his country both stateside and in Afghanistan, he returned home to Weston.

 

During his free time, he enjoyed dirt track racing at Grayson County Speedway. His family said he “loved fishing with his mom and picking on his brother.” He was a volunteer firefighter for the Weston Fire Department.

 

He is survived by his mother, Mona Atkins; brother, Jake Leeswood-Jones; sister, Tanya Leeswood-Jones; grandparents, James and Joyce Atkins, Ralph and Barbara Sloan, and David and Carol Leeswood-Jones; aunts, Sissy, Cindy, Angelica, Michelle, and Rikki; Uncle Scott; cousins, Lacey, Eric, Casey Jones and Brittany; and fiancé, Elisha Griggs Martinez and her son, Isaiah.
