Funeral services for Wanda Marie May McCarley, 86, of Blue Ridge were held May 22, 2010, at the First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge followed by internment at the Blue Ridge Cemetery.

 

The Rev. Johnnie Jones and the Rev. Brian Hawkins officiated.

 

Mrs. McCarley was born Nov. 30, 1923, in Blue Ridge to William H. May and Lura Beatrice Green May.

 

She married Woodley Hollis McCarley Dec. 6, 1941, in Durant, Okla.

 

Mrs. McCarley died May 18 at Wilson Jones Hospital in Sherman.

 

She was a homemaker, a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge, member of the Whitewright Riding Club, an officer in the PTA, PTO Room mother and a Chapter mother for the FFA.

 

She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

 

She is survived by her husband, Woodley McCarley of Blue Ridge; daughters, Judy Jenkins and her husband, Terry of Blue Ridge, Karun Tillett and her husband, Curtis of Springfield, Ill. and Loulane Darwin and her husband, Bob of Whitewright; sister, Jean Jeffcoat of Farmersville; brother-in-law, Bill Montgomery of McKinney; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
