Billie Pearl Barton
Funeral services for Billie Pearl Barton were held Wednesday, April 28, 2010, in the Cockrell Chapel at First Baptist Church of Garland with the Rev. Jack Schmid officiating.
A graveside service followed at Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Farmersville.
She was born Oct. 3, 1925, in Italy to Chester A. Gardner and Alice P. Spear Gardner.
She wed Joe A. Barton Dec. 21, 1942, in Avalon.
He preceded her in death Dec. 6, 2002.
Mrs. Barton was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Garland for more than 50 years and was an active participant in church activities until her death. Mrs. Barton retired from Neiman Marcus where she received numerous awards over the tenure of her employment.
Mrs. Barton is survived by her son, Joe Glenn Barton and his wife, Eva Hartsell Barton and granddaughter, Jessica Autumn Barton, all of Farmersville and a sister, Charlotte Low of Mesquite.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Garland.
Arrangements were under the direction of Hurst’s Fielder-Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville.
