Heather Grupido, co-owner of Charlie’s Old-Fashion Hamburger, stands inside
the dining area. The business is located on Hwy. 78.

When looking for a tasty treat many residents already frequent Charlie’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers.

For those unfamiliar with the restaurants delightful culinary cuisine, the eaterie features old fashioned handmade burgers, true home cooking and yummy chicken wraps.

Charlie's is owned by HCG Restaurant Group, LLC., which is the company owners Heather and Chris Grupido founded two years ago.

“It is our initials,  Heather and Chris Grupido with group because I knew that my dream included having more than just one place,” Heather said.

Charlie's currently has 11 employees.

Though the business has been open since April 2008, Chris and Heather have owned the business since November 2009.
How the Grupido’s came to own the local business is an interesting story in itself.

“I found Charlie's for sale one day while I was browsing thru Craigslist - I called to find out if the add was correct and made an appointment to come out and see the place,” Heather said.  I fell in love with the restaurant because of the decor and the feeling you get when you find your dream. Two weeks later, I brought my husband back to see Charlie's and try one of the burgers - after the first bite, my decision was made, this was going to be my first restaurant.”

Though her love of cooking impacted her to originally buy Charlie’s, it was also the community of Farmersville.

“I love owning a business here in Farmersville because of all the amazing people I have had the opportunity to meet and also because of the true sense of community that is found everywhere you go,” she said.

Charlie’s is open seven days a week:
• Mondays 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
• Tuesday thru Thursday 11 a.m. -9 p.m.,
Friday and Saturday 7 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Sunday 7 a.m. -8 p.m..
“Look for breakfast every weekday and Monday dinner very soon,” Heather said.

The business is located at 602 Hwy. 78 N (across from the high school) and their phone number is 972-782-7900. They can also be found on Facebook.

“We would love to have everyone choose to come see us when they decide to eat out, but I want our guests to want to choose us to come and have good food and a great atmosphere,” she said.
