Traffic on Hwy. 380 was impeded for more than an hour July 19 when a car hit a truck from behind.

The Farmersville Police Department was called to the scene at 8:40 a.m. after a 2000 Chevy Malibu driven by Darla Davidson of Farmersville rear- ended a 2006 Ford pickup truck driven by Paul Stoup of Blue Ridge.

No injuries occurred.

The drivers were traveling westbound toward Princeton. Stoup had stopped behind three cars to let construction workmen cross the road. Davidson did not stop, and he hit the truck.

The accident occurred on the section of highway located between Sonic Drive-In and the Hwy. 78 intersection.

According to the police department, there has been an increase in accidents due to the construction on the highways.

Police advise drivers to be careful and pay attention to signs while in the construction areas.
