The new Farmersville FFA chapter officers attended the 2010 Area V FFA Officer Leadership Camp at the Collin County Adventure Camp Grounds in Westminster on June 14 and 15.
The lessons they learned at the camp will help them strive to be better people and citizens throughout their lives, FFA members said.
The camp focused on communication, trust, teamwork, and officer duties and responsibilities.
Students who attended the camp said it really improved their personal skills and that it will make the Farmersville FFA chapter better.
The new officers have already stepped up to the plate and have many new plans, such as holding an open house FFA meeting at the beginning of the next school year to help improve the Farmersville FFA’s involvement with the town.
The officers have also made plans to attend the 82nd Annual State FFA Convention in Corpus Christi on July 13-16, 2010.
Not all of the Farmersville FFA officers could make it to the camp, because of their summer schedule.
The ones who did attempt were Dillon Burditt, chapter president; Lathan Hendricks, treasurer; Dakota Burditt, reporter; Shelby Miller, historian; Caleb Ripple, chairman; Brian Reynolds, chairman; Colton West, FFA member, and John Smith, chapter advisor.
