Former Air Force pilot Greg Barber demonstrates how a plane flies
for third grade students.
Greg Barber, a parent and former pilot for the Air Force, spoke to Farmersville Intermediate School third graders and Super Sonic Kids April 16.
During his presentation, he focused his expertise on early inventor's discoveries that lead to man's first flight, explained the many facets of aeronautics, and the effects of flying on the body as it relates to g-forces and how steps are taken to compensate. He discussed what it takes to be a pilot and other related careers, and how important an education is to obtain the goals set.
Jonathan Hoar and Austin Kemp were his assistants. Jonathan helped with the gliders and flying objects demonstration, and Austin was able to see what it was like to be a pilot.
